Aurora Notifier is a mobile application leveraging Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver timely notifications about potential Northern Lights sightings. Users can customize alerts based on local aurora probability, Kp-index (Hp30), solar wind parameters (Bz/Bt), and evening Kp-level forecasts. A unique feature allows users to receive alerts when nearby app users report witnessing the aurora. This crowdsourced element is fueled by users uploading their own aurora sighting reports after successfully viewing the display. A premium version, available for in-app purchase, unlocks enhanced technical information, including graphs of Kp-index predictions, cloud cover, solar wind parameters, and additional features.
