In a surprising convergence of snack culture and pop-culture collectibles, a one-of-a-kind Cheetos chip resembling the beloved Pokémon Charizard was sold at auction for an incredible $87,840. The unique shape of the chip, combined with its vibrant orange hue as a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto, gave it an unmistakable fiery flair—aptly echoing Charizard’s blazing persona.

Beyond the novelty of owning a naturally shaped snack-turned-artifact, the winning bidder also received a custom Pokémon card and a specially crafted display case to preserve the chip in all its glory.

According to Goldin Auctions, the chip was discovered and carefully preserved by 1st Goal Collectibles sometime between 2018 and 2022. It gained widespread attention toward the end of 2024 after going viral on multiple social media platforms, sparking fascination across fan communities and collector circles alike.

Before its sale, the chip was showcased on popular collectible platforms such as Arena Club and 1st Goal Collectibles, drawing interest from around the globe. While some view the purchase as a bold investment, others see it as a testament to the ever-growing enthusiasm surrounding rare and unusual Pokémon memorabilia.

Regardless of interpretation, this record-breaking sale highlights how unconventional items can capture the imagination—and wallets—of collectors, further proving that in today’s niche-driven markets, even the most unexpected objects can become cultural treasures.
