Medabot Survivors: Bullet-Hell Action for Medabots Fans, but Only in Japan (for now)
Medabot Survivors, a new bullet-hell action game based on the popular Japanese robot RPG series, is launching in Japan on February 10th for iOS and Android. For those unfamiliar, Medabots emerged in the wake of Pokémon's global success, though it never achieved the same Western popularity. However, it remains a significant franchise in Japan.
The game's "Survivors-like" genre is a natural progression for the franchise, capitalizing on the current popularity of the style. While the genre predates Vampire Survivors, Medabot Survivors' release highlights its global expansion.
A Western Release? Perhaps.
While currently Japan-exclusive, the game's success could lead to a future Western release. Many excellent Japanese games remain unavailable internationally, but a strong reception for Medabot Survivors could change that.
