Transformers: Reactivate Gameplay Footage Leaks After Game’s Cancellation

Author : Allison Jan 26,2025

Leaked gameplay footage of the canceled Transformers: Reactivate has re-emerged online. Originally announced in 2022 by Splash Damage in partnership with Hasbro, the co-op game pitted Autobots and Decepticons against an alien threat, "the Legion."

Despite limited public reveals, leaked footage from a 2020 build offers a glimpse into the game's potential. The footage showcases Bumblebee navigating a destroyed city, seamlessly transforming between robot and vehicle modes, and engaging in combat. The gameplay style bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, albeit with a different antagonist.

The leaked footage, while showing some unfinished textures, demonstrates a polished look and features environmental destruction. An incomplete cutscene depicts Bumblebee's arrival in a ravaged New York City, communicating with an ally named Devin.

Numerous other leaks, dating back to 2020, further illustrate the game's development. Although Transformers: Reactivate was ultimately canceled, the leaked footage provides fans with a look at the project's ambition and potential. The game's cancellation resulted in Splash Damage shifting focus to other projects, with potential staff redundancies.
