What can you remap?
KeyMapper allows remapping of various hardware buttons:
- Fingerprint gestures (on compatible devices).
- Volume buttons.
- Navigation buttons.
- Bluetooth and wired keyboard keys.
- Buttons on other connected devices.
Important Note: Only hardware buttons are supported. Remapping is not guaranteed to work on all devices, and this app is not intended for game control. Your device manufacturer may restrict remapping capabilities.
Advanced Customization:
Create powerful "triggers" by combining multiple keys from different devices. Each trigger can execute multiple actions. Configure triggers for short presses, long presses, or double presses, and set key sequences. You can also add "constraints" to limit trigger functionality to specific contexts.
What can't you remap?
Some buttons are beyond KeyMapper's reach:
- Power button
- Bixby button
- Mouse buttons
- Game controller D-pad, thumbsticks, and triggers
Keymaps are inactive when the screen is off—an Android system limitation.

Permissions:
KeyMapper requests permissions only when necessary. The app will inform you if a permission is required for a specific feature.
- Accessibility Service: Essential for key remapping; allows the app to monitor and intercept key events.
- Device Admin: Enables screen-off functionality.
- Modify System Settings: Allows brightness and rotation adjustments.
- Camera: Controls the flashlight.
Enabling the accessibility service may disable "enhanced data encryption" on some devices.
