Exclusive Build of Valve's MOBA Shooter Deadlock Revealed

Author : Joshua May 13,2025

Valve's MOBA hero shooter, Deadlock, remains in its invite-only testing phase, with the company diligently working on enhancements and iterations. However, a recent livestream mishap has seemingly unveiled the existence of an even more exclusive playtest, featuring previously unseen characters and redesigns.

The accidental reveal came during a livestream by a prominent Deadlock player, who inadvertently opened the wrong version of the game. According to reports from Eurogamer, the stream captured glimpses of new characters, such as the retro-styled Doorman, the bespectacled Bookworm, and the gothic Vampirebat, alongside visual updates for existing characters like Ivy. The streamer quickly corrected their mistake, but the cat was already out of the bag.

PlayWhile no further information has surfaced since the leak, which is still quite recent, Deadlock is no stranger to such incidents. The game's existence and content have been subjects of numerous leaks in the past. Although test builds for larger player groups to experiment with upcoming updates are not unusual, it's somewhat surprising for a game like Deadlock, which is still in its early, invite-only stage.

Reactions on the r/DeadlockTheGame subreddit are mixed, with some players expressing frustration at feeling left out of the playtest loop. Despite being accessible to a limited audience, Deadlock has attracted a notable number of players and garnered attention from fans of both shooters and MOBAs. As a new title from Valve, Deadlock already commands interest, and its unique rollout and continued exclusivity only heighten its allure. The revelation of an even more exclusive build adds another layer of intrigue for players to ponder.

It's crucial to maintain perspective amidst the excitement, as one Reddit user humorously noted: "Oh great as if one Lash wasn't bad enough, now there are two of him!"
