Coming May 6
Schell Games and Innersloth have officially announced that Among Us 3D will launch on May 6, 2025. This announcement was shared via Among Us 3D’s official Twitter (X) account on April 16.
Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to provide a more expansive experience, including cross-play multiplayer. This week, the developers introduced a new currency, Stardust, which offers players unlimited use and greater purchasing flexibility.
Among Us 3D will feature a permanent Tag Mode with an Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, new and returning mini-games, and a variety of new cosmetics.
To clarify, Among Us 3D is a separate entity from the 2022 release of Among Us VR, and cross-play between the two games is not supported. As stated in the FAQs on Schell Games' website, Among Us 3D is designed as a distinct game, allowing for continuous updates to Among Us VR while delivering a unique experience for PC players.
They explained, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
Wishlist Campaign
Among Us 3D is now available for wishlisting on Steam, accompanied by the Powered By Wishlists Challenge. This campaign offers in-game rewards at various milestones:
- 333,333 Wishlists - Unlock a new hat
- 444,444 Wishlists - Gain another new hat
- 555,555 Wishlists - Receive a cosmetic surprise
- 777,777 Wishlists - Earn suspiciously exciting new cosmetic(s)
While the rewards for the last two milestones remain undisclosed, fans can anticipate some fantastic loot to kick off their adventures as crewmates. Mark your calendars for the release of Among Us 3D on PC on May 6, 2025.
