Skybound Entertainment unveiled its upcoming Invincible fighting game during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. Titled InvincibleVS, this 3v3 tag-team fighter brings iconic characters from the beloved comic and animated series to life—including Mark Grayson (Invincible), Omni-Man, Thula, Atom Eve, and Bulletproof.
The game is slated for a 2026 release on Xbox Series X|S (with Xbox Play Anywhere support), PlayStation 5, and PC.
Official description:
Inspired by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley’s groundbreaking 15-year comic series (146 issues at Image Comics), InvincibleVS merges superhero grandeur with visceral combat. Players execute explosive abilities and punishing combos through dynamic tag-team mechanics and tactical defense. Each devastating Super and Ultimate attack escalates the carnage, leaving battle arenas splattered with blood.
“I’ve never been more excited about an Invincible project,” Kirkman emphasized. “InvincibleVS delivers relentless action, mirroring the comic’s graphic intensity while evolving the franchise. After years of fan demand, this could redefine superhero fighters.”
InvincibleVS features multiple adrenaline-fueled modes: a gripping single-player campaign, competitive/casual multiplayer Versus, character-driven Arcade challenges, and combo-refining Training. Every fight culminates in brutal, screen-shaking impacts that make players feel unstoppable.
Executive Producer Mike Willette stated: “Collaborating with Robert and the creative teams ensured authenticity. Every attack, taunt, and injury has weight—building toward victory’s visceral thrill. No tag fighter has matched this raw intensity. This is our tribute to both Invincible fans and fighting game enthusiasts.”
Originally revealed during Skybound’s 2024 crowdfunding campaign, InvincibleVS is developed by a 30-person in-house team with veterans from Activision Blizzard, EA, and Epic Games. Given the TV series’ acclaim (now in Season 3), expectations are sky-high.
