A charming new game, Cato: Buttered Cat, is poised for an Android release. The name itself is a playful combination of "cat" and "toast," perfectly reflecting the game's quirky premise. Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers at Team Woll did, and the result is a perpetually spinning feline in a delightful anti-gravity loop!
Initially conceived as an entry for the 2022 BOOOM Gamejam, Cato: Buttered Cat garnered positive reception, prompting its development into a full-fledged title. Currently available on Steam for PC, the game's Android debut is imminent. While the Google Play Store listing isn't yet live, pre-registration is open on the official TapTap page.
Gameplay:
Cato: Buttered Cat is a puzzle platformer where players control both a cat and a slice of buttered toast. This dynamic duo navigates five whimsical worlds, solving puzzles, battling enemies, and uncovering a captivating storyline revealed piecemeal throughout the 200 levels (including side quests). Players can also customize their cat with 30 unique outfits.
The core gameplay revolves around the interplay between the cat's agility and the toast's projectile capabilities. The cat can climb, run, and jump, while the toast can be launched to assist the cat in reaching otherwise inaccessible areas. The game also features hidden rooms and numerous Easter eggs.
We eagerly anticipate Cato: Buttered Cat's Android launch. For now, stay tuned for further updates and check out our coverage of Operation Lucent Arrowhead, the Arknights x Rainbow Six Siege crossover.
