Midjiwan has unleashed a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe. This revamp of the game's first special tribe (introduced in 2017) introduces a host of exciting changes.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion units now boast mermaid tails, making them amphibious or fully aquatic. This grants them effortless water traversal, although land movement is slower. A new flooded terrain mechanic allows land and naval units to occupy the same spaces for the first time.
Buildings have also received an aquatic makeover. Construction on water is now possible, and Lost Cities are hidden within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal bases for seafaring warfare. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, a permanent addition, function similarly to land-based crops.
New Aquatic Creatures
Prepare to encounter new sea creatures! Sharks ambush opponents, puffers provide long-range bombardment, and jellies unleash electric shocks. Returning favorites include the Tridentons and Crabs, the latter now flooding tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. See it in action:
Rediscovering the Aquarion Tribe
Midjiwan has revitalized the Aquarion Tribe. Note that Lost Cities appear at level 3 with pre-built walls.
