Bandai Namco to End PAC-MAN Mobile Service

Bandai Namco has announced the shutdown of PAC-MAN Mobile, a decision that strikes a poignant note as the iconic character celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. This mobile version of the legendary game, which launched over a decade ago, has been a beloved part of many players' gaming experiences.

When Is the PAC-MAN Mobile Shutdown?

The official shutdown date for PAC-MAN Mobile is set for May 30th, 2025. In-app purchases were discontinued as of April 1st, but players can continue enjoying the game until the final day. Fans have voiced their disappointment over the complete shutdown, expressing a preference for an offline version that could still generate revenue for Bandai Namco.

PAC-MAN Mobile, formerly known as PAC-MAN + Tournaments, offered more than just the classic arcade experience. In addition to the iconic 8-bit arcade mode, the game featured a Story Mode with a variety of original mazes. The Adventure Mode introduced limited-time themed events, allowing players to earn exclusive skins. The Tournament Mode added weekly maze challenges with three difficulty levels, and the game included numerous skins for PAC-MAN, the ghosts, the joystick, and more.

The Reason

The decision to shut down PAC-MAN Mobile likely stems from the accumulation of bugs and issues that have plagued the game for years. Despite the initial excitement and competitive spirit when the game launched on Android, with players striving for high scores and leaderboard rankings, the persistent technical problems have contributed to its end.

If you're keen to experience PAC-MAN Mobile one last time before its shutdown, you can download it from the Google Play Store. Don't miss out on this opportunity to revisit a classic.
