After months of swirling rumors and tantalizing leaks, Bethesda is poised to officially unveil the much-anticipated remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion tomorrow. The announcement is scheduled for 11:00 am EST and will be streamed live on both YouTube and Twitch.
In a recent tweet from the official Bethesda account, a striking image featuring a large "IV" and a background reminiscent of iconic Oblivion art was shared, strongly hinting at the nature of tomorrow's reveal.
The journey to this point has been filled with speculation. Initial rumors of an Oblivion remaster surfaced following a leaked Bethesda release schedule in 2020, part of the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, which suggested a remaster planned for fiscal year 2022. Although the timeline had passed, making it seem like a potentially canceled project, subsequent leaks in January of this year suggested a more ambitious full-blown remake, developed in collaboration with Virtuos. The rumors gained further credibility last week when leaks from Virtuos' own website showcased images of the remake in progress.
Should these leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered is expected to launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. Fans can look forward to a Deluxe Edition, which will include the iconic horse armor, in addition to the standard version.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow for what promises to be an exciting confirmation and further details on this eagerly awaited remaster.
