Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
Following reports of widespread issues beginning January 6th, Raven Software acknowledged the problem. Although the underlying bug remains unpatched (as of January 9th, according to their Trello board), a crucial update has been deployed. This update suspends Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses player concerns regarding unjust penalties stemming from the unavoidable crashes. Penalties for mid-match disconnections remain in effect.
This temporary fix offers some relief, though the persistent bugs, even after a major January 2025 update, remain a source of frustration for the Warzone community. The ongoing challenges highlight the significant workload facing the development team in addressing the numerous glitches and ensuring a smooth Ranked play experience. The hope is for a swift and comprehensive resolution to these issues.
