Civ 7 Roadmap Revealed, Includes Free Updates
Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar as Paid DLCs
The developers at Firaxis Games have shared their roadmap for Civ 7 ahead of its launch on February 11, promising four new content releases in March. Just days before the game's release, they revealed details about the upcoming content for early and late March, categorized into Content Collections (paid DLCs), Free Updates, and Events & Challenges.
March's updates will introduce thrilling additions to the game. Among the highlights are:
- Free Updates featuring the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest as new World Wonders.
- Paid DLCs introducing Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar as new Leaders.
Beyond the March update, Firaxis teased additional content including 2 more Leaders, 4 new Civilizations, and 4 World Wonders, along with new events and challenges. While specific release windows for this content have not been disclosed, the developers have assured players of more content in October 2025 and beyond.
The developers also shared a list of planned future updates that didn't make it into the initial launch. Although no release dates have been set, Firaxis has assigned developers to work on these updates to bring them to players as soon as possible. These updates include:
- Adding Teams to multiplayer
- Expanding the number of players in multiplayer mode to 8
- Allowing players to pick "starting and ending Age"
- Creating "a wider variety of map types"
- Adding hotseat in multiplayer
