Civilization VII: A Roadmap to Global Domination
Civilization VII's launch is imminent, with the release date set for February 11th. Deluxe and Founders Edition owners gain five days early access, starting February 6th. A day-one patch will also be deployed. The game will be available across all major platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with confirmed Steam Deck compatibility.
Firaxis Games and 2K have declared the game "gold," signifying the completion of primary development and eliminating further delays (barring unforeseen circumstances). This marks a significant milestone for Sid Meier's acclaimed 4X strategy title, solidifying its position as a benchmark in the genre.
The initial DLC, "Crossroads of the World," arrives in March, split into two releases. The first introduces Great Britain and Carthage as playable civilizations, along with the historical figure Ada Lovelace as a new leader. Three weeks later, the second part unveils Simon Bolivar as a leader and Bulgaria and Nepal as new civilizations.
Further expansion is planned with "Right to Rule," slated for release in Q2 or Q3 2025 (April-September). This DLC will include two additional leaders, four new civilizations, and fresh natural wonders.
March also sees the addition of new in-game events and natural wonders, including the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest, enhancing gameplay and strategic depth. Firaxis promises ongoing improvements and challenges to enrich the Civilization VII experience.
