Firaxis Games unveiled the post-launch roadmap for Sid Meier's Civilization VII during a recent livestream. The roadmap details significant updates planned for 2025, including several DLC packs and free content updates.
Paid DLC will arrive in two parts, collectively titled the "Crossroads of the World Collection." Part one (early March) features Leader Ada Lovelace, four Natural Wonders, and the Carthage and Great Britain civilizations. Part two (late March) includes Leader Simon Bolivar and the Bulgaria and Nepal civilizations. Free content, including new Natural Wonder events and Wonders themselves (Battle event and Bermuda Triangle in early March; Marvelous Mountains event and Mount Everest in late March), will also launch in March.
Further paid DLC, the "Right Rule Collection," is slated for release this summer, adding two new leaders, four civilizations, and four New World Wonders. Free content and updates will continue throughout the spring and summer. Firaxis promises continued post-launch support from October 2025 onward. Specific release dates remain unannounced.
A developer diary blog post expands on these plans, highlighting future additions such as multiplayer team support, larger multiplayer lobbies, increased map variety, and modding tools. These features will be released "as soon as possible," according to the developers. The diary also emphasizes initial bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements.
The livestream also showcased multiplayer gameplay, demonstrating diverse victory strategies. A Q&A session addressed community questions.
