The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global mobile run. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers are officially closing. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, launched globally in September 2023 and will shut down on August 29th, 2024.
Shutdown Date:
Code Geass: Lost Stories will be unavailable after August 29th, 2024. Account access will cease on this date, along with the closure of official global social media channels. Downloads and in-app purchases are already disabled.
Reasons for Shutdown:
While no official statement details the reasons, low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews are likely contributing factors. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a significant player base outside Japan due to lower spending habits in other regions. The game's blend of RPG, action, and tower defense elements, while appealing in concept, apparently failed to gain widespread traction internationally.
Japanese Players:
The game remains available to Japanese players on the Google Play Store.
