Cronos: The New Dawn Announces New Temporal Diver Difficulty Option
Coming Early 2026
Developer Bloober Team has revealed "Temporal Diver," a new easy mode for Cronos: The New Dawn, scheduled to arrive in early 2026. According to an announcement on the studio’s official website dated December 22, this survival horror title will feature a difficulty setting that significantly reduces combat intensity, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the story and atmosphere. The developer also shared a short trailer outlining the rationale behind this addition. Although Cronos was originally crafted to test player resilience, Bloober Team is introducing Temporal Diver based on fan requests for a more accessible gameplay experience.
"But, we’ve heard your voices, and we know that some of us want to explore the story behind the game in your own pace. So right now, we are working on a new difficulty setting that will be introduced in early 2026. Such is our calling," the developers explained.
At present, Cronos features two difficulty levels: Anvil of the Collective (standard) and Forged in Fire (harder), with the latter unlocking after completing the main campaign. The upcoming Temporal Diver mode will offer increased player health pools and weaker enemy encounters.
Players have commended Cronos for its "dark tone and oppressive atmosphere," noting that despite its challenging nature, the gameplay remains fair. Following a "Very Positive" reception on Steam, this new easy option aims to welcome a broader audience who prefer a more relaxed experience.
At Game8, we awarded Cronos: The New Dawn an 84 out of 100 for its compelling survival horror mechanics and immersive world. To read our full assessment, please visit the review below.
