Dead Island 2's latest update, Patch 6, brings a thrilling array of new content to keep zombie-slaying enthusiasts on the edge of their seats. With the introduction of New Game Plus (NG+) mode, players can now dive back into the game at a heightened difficulty level while retaining their inventory and character progression. This mode not only ups the challenge but also adds three additional skill slots, raises the level cap, and introduces new weapons and skins along with formidable new enemies.
Among the new additions are the Revenants, a more powerful variant of the Apex zombies. These creatures come with new behaviors and tweaked capabilities designed to make them exceptionally tough to defeat. The developers have promised that combining these new zombies with the NG+ mode will crank the game's challenge level up to 11, offering a true test for seasoned players.
To aid in tackling these enhanced threats, all weapons introduced in NG+ will be significantly more powerful than those in the main game, with a variety of fixed-rarity weapons to discover and master. Additionally, Patch 6 introduces the Neighbourhood Watch horde mode, a unique blend of horde and tower defense gameplay. In this mode, players must defend their home base over the course of five days, fending off waves of zombies and completing objectives to secure essential gear.
