Devil May Cry Anime Release Date Announced

Author : Christian May 12,2025

The wait is finally over for fans of the Devil May Cry series, as Netflix has announced that the eagerly anticipated Devil May Cry anime will premiere on their streaming platform on April 3. This exciting news comes with a fresh teaser shared on X, set to the iconic sounds of Limp Bizkit, perfectly capturing the series' edgy vibe.

First announced in 2018, this anime adaptation is a collaboration between Adi Shankar, the showrunner behind the acclaimed Castlevania series, and Studio Mir, the studio renowned for its work on The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97. The series is set to consist of an eight-episode first season, promising to deliver high-quality animation and storytelling.

While specific plot details are still under wraps, it seems the series will focus on Dante, the iconic protagonist from the first three Devil May Cry games, rather than the events of Devil May Cry 5. Johnny Yong Bosch, who voices Nero in the video games, will lend his voice to Dante in this animated venture. Although the exact connections to the video game series remain unconfirmed, fans can look forward to seeing their favorite demon hunter in action once again.

The last installment in the Devil May Cry video game franchise was Devil May Cry 5, released in 2019. This game marked a triumphant return for the series, following a hiatus since the release of DmC: Devil May Cry in 2013. As an action-packed title, Devil May Cry 5 was critically acclaimed and is highly recommended, especially for those who have enjoyed games like Ninja Gaiden Black 2.
