Pocketpair's Palworld, renowned for its expansive open-world exploration, offers a treasure trove of mystical items and Pals. The Feybreak DLC significantly expanded this, introducing numerous crafting materials, including the coveted Dark Fragments. Essential for crafting high-tier accessories, Dark Fragments are a Feybreak exclusive, demanding focused effort to obtain.
How to Acquire Dark Fragments in Palworld
To obtain Dark Fragments, hunt Dark-elemental Pals exclusively on Feybreak Island. Note that Dark-elemental Pals from other regions won't yield these fragments. The coastal areas primarily feature ground and water-type Pals; venture inland to find Dark-elemental Pals. Some, like Starryon, are nocturnal unless encountered as boss variants.
Capturing or defeating these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) yields 1-3 Dark Fragments per encounter. The drop isn't guaranteed, but diligent hunting will provide a sufficient supply.
The following Dark-elemental Pals yield Dark Fragments. Boss and predator variants exist in open areas and dungeons:
While less reliable, single Dark Fragments may randomly appear on the ground across Feybreak. Thorough exploration is key, balancing resource gathering with combat encounters to conserve ammunition for more challenging objectives like Bjorn, the island's Tower Boss.
Utilizing Dark Fragments in Palworld
Dark Fragments, though valuable, aren't used in a vast array of recipes. They primarily craft specialized saddles, accessories for specific Pals, and enhanced boots (dash and jump) for your character.
The following items require Dark Fragments. Unlocking schematics via the Technology Menu (or Ancient Technology Menu) using Technology Points is necessary, along with the appropriate crafting machines and materials.
