Disney Lorcana has unveiled major updates about the trading card game's future, including the September 5, 2025 release of its ninth set - Fabled. This expansion introduces groundbreaking new card types including Iconic and Epic rarity tiers, along with the highly anticipated debut of A Goofy Movie characters.
Fabled Set Overview
The Fabled expansion marks several firsts for Disney Lorcana, scheduled for pre-release on August 29 followed by full launch on September 5, 2025.
A Goofy Movie finally joins the Lorcana universe, though specific character cards remain under wraps for now. The set's most coveted additions will be Mickey and Minnie Mouse as the game's inaugural Iconic Cards - ultra-rare chase cards featuring beautiful carousel designs.
New Epic Cards bridge the gap between Legendary and Enchanted rarities, offering special artwork and foil treatments. The set also initiates competitive card rotation, restricting Core Constructed format to cards from Sets 5 onward.

New players can jump in with the Collection Starter Set containing:

Reign of Jafar Arrives in June
The eighth set makes its debut June 6, 2024, continuing Jafar's storyline as he wields the corrupted Hexwell Crown. New characters include:
- Bambi (Prince of the Forest)
- Jafar (High Sultan of Lorcana)
- Aladdin (Vigilant Guard)
A companion co-op adventure, Illumineers' Quest: Palace Heist, allows four players to battle Jafar's forces together.
Future Updates Teased
Beyond Fabled, Whispers in the Well arrives in late 2025 potentially featuring Gargoyles characters. Finally confirming fan requests, Darkwing Duck will join the game in 2026.
World Championship Details
The inaugural Disney Lorcana World Championship takes place June 28-29 at Walt Disney World, with live streaming coverage on Twitch. Spectators can earn special promo cards during the event.
