Dredge's Mobile Port Delayed Until February 2025, But a New Closed Beta is Open!
Fans eagerly awaiting the mobile version of Black Salt Games' Lovecraftian fishing horror, Dredge, will need to exercise a bit more patience. The release has been pushed back to February 2025. However, the delay comes with good news: Black Salt Games has opened sign-ups for a new closed beta test!
For the uninitiated, Dredge casts players as a fisherman in the eerie town of Greater Marrow. Initially, the job involves the simple task of catching and selling fish. But the tranquil fishing quickly descends into unsettling encounters with strange sea creatures, mysterious beings, and a host of monstrous oddities. The constant threat of madness and unsettling events on a nearby island adds to the chilling atmosphere.
Interested in participating in the closed mobile beta? Sign up via this Google Form. Despite the delay, the numerous awards and critical acclaim Dredge has received strongly suggest it's a game worth the wait, especially for those who haven't experienced it yet.
A Challenging Port
Having played the PC version of Dredge, the delay isn't entirely surprising. Adapting such a large and detailed game to mobile is a significant undertaking. However, if the mobile port mirrors the quality of the original, players can anticipate a rich and extensive experience. The additional closed beta is a smart move, allowing for valuable player feedback and ensuring a smoother launch.
