Epic Games Store's Mobile App Receives a Major Update

The Epic Games Store mobile application is undergoing a significant upgrade. This update includes the addition of nearly 20 new third-party games and the highly anticipated launch of their popular free games program. This program will be available globally on Android and within the European Union on iOS.

This first wave of third-party titles marks a substantial expansion of the mobile storefront. The inclusion of the free games program is a key feature, starting with the free offering of Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, available until February 20th, followed by Bloons TD6.

A focus on cross-platform integration ensures a seamless experience. Users can access their Epic accounts and game progress across both Android and iOS devices. An automatic update feature will keep game libraries current.

Epic's Mobile Strategy

Epic Games' commitment to its mobile storefront is evident. While facing competition from established platforms like Steam on PC, the free games program is a strategic move to attract mobile gamers. Their developer-friendly revenue-sharing model continues to be a key differentiator, particularly in their ongoing disputes with Apple.
