In the vast world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, securing resources like Sharp Fangs can significantly enhance your crafting capabilities. These essential items are crucial for forging beginner-tier gear sets such as Chatacabra and Talioth armor, and they can be found early in the game within the Windward Plains.
How to Get Sharp Fang in Monster Hunter Wilds
To start your quest for Sharp Fangs, embark on one of the initial optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests will lead you to the Windward Plains, giving you a generous 50-minute window to explore. It's a good idea to prepare by cooking and eating a meal before you set out on your adventure.
Once you arrive, head east to Area 8, the largest area on the map, where you'll encounter various smaller monsters. While multiple monsters here can drop Sharp Fangs, your focus should be on the Gaijos.
Gaijos
Gaijos, resembling small leviathan crocodiles with unique snouts, are typically found near or in riverbeds, often alone. You can easily locate them by scanning the interactive map for purple diamonds near water sources. Approach these creatures, use your equipped weapon to swiftly defeat them, and carve their carcasses to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang. Gaijos are a reliable source, guaranteed to drop Sharp Fangs, and there are typically four to five of them in the Windward Plains upon your initial arrival. You can re-enter the region through any of the optional quests to farm more of these items as needed.
Talioth
Another potential source of Sharp Fangs in the Windward Plains is the Talioth. These bipedal creatures roam in small packs in Area 8 and sometimes Area 13. Although not as guaranteed as Gaijos, Talioths can drop Sharp Fangs along with other items like Talioth Scales. While hunting them, you can also complete the "The Desert is Demanding" quest, which requires you to kill 8 x Talioths.
