February 2025 brings a packed lineup of exciting events to *Pokémon GO*, offering players plenty of opportunities to catch rare Pokémon, earn exclusive rewards, and participate in special community activities. From the festive Lunar New Year celebration to high-stakes Legendary Raids and Community Days, there’s something for every Trainer this month.
Lunar New Year Event: January 29 – February 2

The Lunar New Year 2025 event runs from January 29 until February 2 at 8:00 PM local time, giving players a festive way to ring in the Chinese New Year. As it's the Year of the Snake, snake-themed Pokémon like Ekans will appear more frequently in the wild.
Here are the Pokémon with increased spawn rates during the event:
- Ekans (Shiny available)
- Onix (Shiny available)
- Snivy (Shiny available)
- Darumaka (Shiny available)
- Dunsparce (Shiny available)
- Gyarados (Shiny available)
- Dratini (Shiny available)
Additionally, players have an increased chance of receiving Lucky Pokémon through trades and becoming Lucky Friends during this event. Daily Field Research tasks also offer free PokéCoins as part of the celebration.
The event also updates the 2KM Egg pool, which now includes:
- Makuhita (Shiny available)
- Nosepass (Shiny available)
- Meditite (Shiny available)
- Duskull (Shiny available)
- Skorupi (Shiny available)
Legendary Flight: Dynamax Moltres Event – February 3 – 9

Kicking off early in February is the debut of Dynamax Moltres as part of the ongoing Legendary Flight event. The fiery bird will be available as a Max Raid Boss starting on February 3 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time at all Power Spots.
After that hour, Dynamax Moltres will still appear in Max Battles until February 9, though availability will be reduced due to rotation with Squirtle, Krabby, and Sobble, which remain as Max Battle bosses until February 10.
Players may need to explore different locations to find Moltres, but you’ll have ample time to track it down before it disappears from raids.
Karrablast & Shelmet Community Day – February 9

This special dual Community Day takes place on Sunday, February 9, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During this window, encounters with Karrablast and Shelmet will increase significantly.
Trainers who evolve either species by February 16 at 10:00 PM local time will receive:
- Escavalier knowing the Charged Move Razor Shell
- Accelgor knowing the Charged Move Energy Ball
In addition to boosted shiny odds and evolution bonuses, players can purchase premium Timed Research for $2.00 USD (or local equivalent) to enhance their event experience.
Beloved Buddies – February 11 – 15
An intriguing new event titled Beloved Buddies will run from February 11 at 10:00 AM to February 15 at 8:00 PM local time. Details about this event have yet to be revealed, so stay tuned—we'll update this section as soon as more information becomes available.
Raid Day – February 15
Mark your calendars for the next Raid Day on Saturday, February 15, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. The featured raid boss has not been announced yet, but we’ll bring you full details once the official schedule drops.
Scattered to the Winds – February 18 – 20
Another mysterious event coming to Pokémon GO is Scattered to the Winds, scheduled from February 18 at 10:00 AM to February 20 at 8:00 PM local time. Like Beloved Buddies and Raid Day, no specific details have been released yet.

Road to Unova – February 18 – March 1

Leading up to the global GO Tour: Unova event in March, Road to Unova begins on February 18 and continues through March 1. This week-long event kicks off on Monday, February 24 at 10:00 AM and features:
- Shiny Meloetta makes its Pokémon GO debut
- A wide variety of Gen 5 Legendary Raids
- Increased spawns of Unovan starter Pokémon
- Exclusive Timed Research missions and bonus opportunities
