Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types
Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation, offering diverse strategic options. With six distinct weapon types available, players can tailor their character to any playstyle imaginable. Each weapon type boasts unique characteristics, especially when charged. Three are melee weapons and three are ranged weapons, all fully customizable. Let's explore each weapon type:
Weapon Types in Freedom Wars Remastered
New weapons are acquired through completing operations or purchasing from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrades' weapons are pre-determined, players have complete control over their Accessory's weapon. Switching weapons frequently carries no advantage or disadvantage.
Weapon Type | Traits |
---|---|
Light Melee | Quick attacks, ideal for fast-paced combat against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. |
Heavy Melee | Wide-sweeping attacks dealing significant damage. Well-placed attacks hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch you into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. |
Polearm | Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for substantial ranged damage. |
Assault Weapons | High ammo capacity, perfect for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for strategic advantage. |
Portable Artillery | High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed. |
Autocannons | High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have low damage, but high fire rate compensates. Reduces movement speed. |
Unlike the player character, your Accessory's gun weapons have unlimited ammo.
