In *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*, Goro Majima wields two distinct fighting styles, with his "Sea Dog" pirate style featuring four potent finishers for crowd control. Unlocking all the dark instruments, however, is a challenging journey.
How to Obtain the Dark God's Violin in Pirate Yakuza
The Dark God's Violin is the first and only mandatory Dark Instrument you'll unlock in *Pirate Yakuza*, crucial for progressing through the main story. You'll encounter it during Chapter 2, when Jason, a crew member, leads you to meet an old friend. Unfortunately, you'll find that the Devil Flag pirates have killed Jason's friend and stolen the priceless Pharoh Stone.
This tragic event introduces Misaki, the orphaned daughter of Jason's friend, who joins the Goro Pirates seeking revenge. The questline leads you to the islands east of Madlantis, where you'll face a formidable enemy fleet of Devil Flag pirates. Focus on defeating the boss ship to advance to the next stage of the battle onboard their vessel. After defeating the Devil Flags, you'll obtain the Dark God's Violin. You'll then have the opportunity to test this new finishing move in a thrilling 100-enemy brawl on the island.
Following the victory, a cutscene introduces you to the leaders of the massive fleet: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus. They challenge the Goro Pirates, kicking off a side quest. While unnecessary for the main story, defeating all Devil Flags is essential to collect all the Dark Instruments.
How to Obtain the Dark God's Ocarina in Pirate Yakuza
After securing the Dark God's Violin and engaging in the initial 100-enemy brawl, you'll notice special Devil Flag markers across various waters in *Pirate Yakuza*. Defeating these ships earns you Devil Flags, and you'll need 70 to proceed with the next Dark Instrument. Collect these flags by confronting Devil Flag ships and treasure islands whenever possible.
Once you've amassed 70 flags, Atali Island will unlock on your map. Prepare a strong landing party, as you'll face multiple waves of attackers. The treasure chest on the island holds the Dark God's Ocarina, but you must defeat Devil Flag Captain Yakuza to claim it. Upon victory, the Ocarina becomes Goro's.

How to Obtain the Dark God's Guitar in Pirate Yakuza
After defeating Captain Yakuza, the storyline unfolds further, leading you to believe you're on the trail of the Pharoh Stone. However, it's a ruse, and another 100-enemy fight ensues, giving you a chance to use the Dark God's Ocarina.
Learning that Zeus is headed to Flame Island, you'll need a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags to progress. Engage with Devil Flag Pirates whenever you spot them to collect these flags. Sail to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene, revealing four treasure islands: Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat. These islands don't allow the use of health items during battles, so ensure Goro and his landing crew are well-upgraded.
After conquering these islands, you'll face another fleet battle. Focus on the boss ship, board it, and defeat the first mate to land on Flame Island. Choose Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima for the best chance at success. After smaller battles, you'll confront Captain Ronin. Utilize your Dark Instruments to defeat him and claim the Dark God of the Earth's Guitar from the treasure chest.
How to Obtain the Dark God's Saxophone in Pirate Yakuza
The final Dark Instrument, the Dark God's Saxophone, requires a Pirate Rank Four and 220 Devil Flags. Achieve this rank by completing main story missions, recruiting crew members, and engaging in mini-games and side quests. Sail to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene and engage the Devil Flag's Fleet blocking Frost Island's entrance.
You'll need to conquer four more islands: Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial, to collect more Devil Flags. Defeat Captain Shinobi's First Fleet before landing on Frost Island, where a series of battles will lead you into a cave and a recovery area.
The final boss fight on Frost Island pits you against Captain Shinobi. Using your Dark Instruments, you should be able to overcome him and his crew. After defeating Shinobi, a cutscene with Zeus unfolds, where he takes Misaki hostage. Upon obtaining the Dark God's Saxophone, you'll have collected all four Dark Instruments in *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*.
The last boss encounter with Zeus to rescue Misaki is challenging and involves a two-stage battle, but it's not necessary for obtaining the Dark Instruments. However, completing it adds a satisfying conclusion to your journey.
