Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 For Whom the Bell Tolls Walkthrough
The main quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" begins immediately after completing "Wedding Crashers." Imprisoned in Trosky, Hans faces execution once the bell tolls 12 times. Fortunately, Henry is assigned to work as a laborer around the castle instead of remaining in prison, giving him the chance to save Hans.
Hauling Sacks
Start by hauling sacks to a shed. This task is not optional. Pick up a sack from the wagon and carry it to the shed near the fenced area. Drop the sack inside and repeat until the objective is complete.
Help the Blacksmith
Next, assist the blacksmith, who reluctantly asks you to craft a horseshoe. Head through the archway opposite the blacksmith to find the forge. Gather the necessary materials from the forge and craft the horseshoe. Once done, return it to the blacksmith, who approves your work. Then, proceed along the path you used for hauling sacks to reach the stables and deliver the horseshoe.
Help Fanka the Cook
After delivering the horseshoe, focus on helping Hans. Return to the forge and take the lockpick from the red pot on the shelves. Then, talk to the woman nearby, Fanka, who works as a cook in the noble's kitchen. Offering to help her grants you access to the kitchen.
Follow Fanka to the kitchen. Although you don't need to lockpick it for her, doing so boosts your reputation, and she allows you to take food whenever needed, which can be useful for upcoming steps.
Speak with the Chamberlain
Upon entering the kitchen, you'll notice the chamberlain suffering from pain. Speak to him and attempt to persuade him to let you brew a Digestive Potion. If successful, he grants access to the surgeon's workshop. If not, you'll need to sneak in.
Make Fever Tonicum
If you couldn't convince the chamberlain, gather some food from the kitchen to distract the guard at the workshop. Otherwise, he will allow you access. Head to the stairs opposite the forge and enter the non-noble's kitchen in the castle. If sneaking in, give the guard food to make him leave, then proceed upstairs.
Continue up several flights of stairs until you reach a hallway with two doors. The door on the right leads to the surgeon's workshop. Inside, craft the Fever Tonicum and, if you convinced the chamberlain, a Digestive Potion. The chest in the room contains enough ingredients for both.
Cure Thomas
If aiding the chamberlain, return to him with the Digestive Potion, which will persuade him to let you help Thomas, granting access to his room. If sneaking, you'll need to navigate one more route to complete the quest.
Return to the noble's kitchen and ascend the stairs there to avoid additional guards. Stay crouched as you move up. You'll encounter a guard at the base of the stairs leading to Thomas's room. Distract him with a pebble, then sneak past him and up the stairs to Thomas's room, where his sister Adele is caring for him. Give Adele the Fever Tonicum to trigger the quest-ending cutscene.
That's how to complete "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Helping Thomas before the 12 bells toll increases your reputation, but the outcome remains the same regardless.
