Hearthstone has unveiled detailed information about the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, set to launch on January 21. This Mini-Set, part of The Great Dark Beyond expansion, is a crossover event with Blizzard's iconic science fiction RTS game, StarCraft. It boasts 49 new cards, making it the largest Mini-Set in Hearthstone's history.

The initial announcement came during the Warcraft Direct on November 13, 2024, where only basic details were shared. Two months later, Hearthstone provided a comprehensive reveal of the Mini-Set, showcasing its extensive card lineup. The set includes 11 more cards than typical Mini-Sets, with three cards for each Hearthstone class and five cards for each StarCraft faction, including a Legendary card for each faction. Additionally, a neutral Legendary card, Grunty, rounds out the collection. Hearthstone has already begun revealing some of these cards, with more planned in the lead-up to the Mini-Set's launch.

The Zerg cards, available to Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, emphasize summoning numerous Zerglings and using the Hydralisk to deal damage based on the swarm's size. The Protoss cards, accessible to Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue, focus on mana manipulation to play high-cost cards like the Carrier. Meanwhile, Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior classes can utilize the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond set, with new Starship Pieces and ways to launch multiple Starships, including a special Mech-type Starship.

Despite its larger size, the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set comes with a higher price tag. Players can purchase a complete set of all the cards for $20 or 2500 gold, which is $5 and 500 gold more than usual Mini-Sets. The all-Golden version is available for $80 or 12,000 gold, compared to the standard $70 and 10,000 gold. Alternatively, fans can buy faction-specific packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) for $10 or 1200 gold.

Hearthstone is also hosting two special events to celebrate the Mini-Set's release. StarCast, on January 23 at 10 AM PST, will feature renowned StarCraft players TrumpSC and Day9 playing with the new cards. HearthCraft, on January 24 at 9 AM PST, will see Hearthstone community creators representing each faction competing in matches and mini-games. Viewers can earn two normal and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs by watching these events on Twitch, so fans won't want to miss out on these free rewards.
