Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era
Your journey begins as a Soul Spirit, a deceased entity with a pivotal choice: to become a Shinigami or a Hollow. Opting for the latter means breaking all the links on your chain, which will transform you into a Hollow. Note that your chain is unstable, and a link will break every two minutes on its own, ensuring your transformation into a Hollow within minutes, even if you do nothing.

Warning: Before embarking on your Hollow Era adventure as a Hollow, be aware that playing as a Hollow can be less engaging than as a Shinigami. While Hollows exude a cool factor, the path to becoming a Vasto Lorde or Espada involves extensive grinding and repetitive kills, demanding significant time and patience.
Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era
Your next step is to evolve into a Gillian, achieved through relentless grinding by killing other Hollows and consuming their parts. You'll reach the Gillian form at level 15, but at level 10, you can unlock the Garganta gateway to Hueco Mundo, simplifying the process of finding, defeating, and consuming Hollows.
As a Hollow, you'll face attacks from both Shinigami and other Hollows, unlike Soul Reapers (Shinigami). For a detailed progression path as a Shinigami, check out our full Shinigami progression guide.
Gillian Form in the Hollow Era
As a Gillian, your primary task is to continue eliminating Hollows and interact with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo's desolate landscape. Once you accumulate sufficient Progression Points, you'll be teleported to your inner world to confront and defeat five Hollows three times, advancing you to an Adjucha.

Be prepared for tougher battles; the Hollows in your inner world are significantly more challenging than regular ones. Don't fear death; you can retry this task as many times as needed.
Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era
As an Adjucha, you face a critical choice: progress towards becoming a Vasto Lorde or an Arrancar. Let's explore the Arrancar path first.

Arrancar Progression
To become an Arrancar, you must interact with a Crystal Bush, which appears in Hueco Mundo every 30 to 60 minutes (on average, every 45 minutes). Upon contact, you'll transform into an Arrancar, gaining the ability to transport to Hueco Mundo using a keybind. Here's a list of all Arrancar Ressurections in Hollow Era.

At level 50, you can pursue your Resurrección, but for now, Arrancars are limited to Kendo skills. We anticipate more skills will be added soon.
Vasto Lorde Progression
Opting for the Vasto Lorde path requires continued elimination and consumption of Hollows to earn Progression Points. Be cautious; dying during this process results in a 1% loss of Progression Points.
Many Hollow Era players remain stuck as an Adjucha due to the grind. To become a Vasto Lorde, you need 800 Progression Points, earned per kill as follows:
- Hollow: 1 Point
- Gillian: 6 Points
- Adjucha: 4 Points
- Vasto Lorde: 8 Points
- Arrancar: 8 Points
- Espada: 10 Points
Vasto Lorde form in the Hollow Era
Transforming into a Vasto Lorde is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You need to collect 800 race Progression Points and acquire all Hollow Items, which have random drop chances. Here's the list of Hollow Items by the creatures that drop them:
- Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed)
- Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
- Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength)
- Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era
If you choose the Vasto Lorde path, your next evolution is to become an Espada. The process mirrors turning into an Arrancar; head to Hueco Mundo, find a Crystal Bush, and interact with it.

To easily locate a Crystal Bush, go to Hueco Mundo and disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field in your options. Then, find a high vantage point to scan the environment.
How to Get Your Resurrección
As an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to obtain your Resurrección. First, reach level 50, then travel to Hueco Mundo and speak with Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo.
Screenshot by: The Escapist
Isen will assign you the ultimate quest: defeat 50 Arrancars. Upon completion, you can use your Resurrección once your Rage Bar is fully charged and pulsating. Fill your Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default Resurrección keybind is “Y”, and it automatically deactivates when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Playing as a Hollow may sound and look cooler, but it's less versatile than evolving as a Shinigami. Prepare for extensive grinding, and remember, as a Hollow, you'll be attacked by both Hollows and Shinigami. If you get disoriented in combat, use the lockup button to focus on your primary target. This can be a lifesaver in buggy, laggy situations where you're pinned by large Hollows but not taking damage, causing your screen to spin until you're defeated.
Learn how to block enemy attacks quickly. Even low-level enemies can deal significant damage, and your health doesn't regenerate fast enough. Upon death, you'll lose some money, but the real challenge is trekking from the spawn point to your latest quest targets. Consider investing in the bus teleport if you can afford it; it's a worthwhile investment.
When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed regardless of your race. While Sword, Vitality, and Reiatsu are appealing, you'll need strong damage output and swift movement early on. If unsure, press and hold J (default keybind) to reveal markers around Karakura using your Reiatsu sense.
This concludes our Hollow Era Hollow progression guide. The game is still in development, so expect some bugs and lag, even on high-performance PCs. Before you start your adventure, make sure to grab your Hollow Era codes to give yourself a boost from the beginning, as this game is challenging.
