In the thrilling world of Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the game involves understanding and collecting seven vital resources. These resources are essential for acquiring gear, unlocking permanent upgrades, enhancing survivability, and expanding your character roster. While the methods to obtain these resources may not be immediately clear, and their uses might confuse even seasoned players, this guide aims to clarify everything you need to know about these key elements of the game.
You can keep track of your collected resources easily, as they are neatly stored under the items tab in the inventory menu. Let's dive into each resource, how to get them, and how to use them effectively.
How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker
Bright Blood is the most abundant resource you'll encounter in Hyper Light Breaker. You can amass it by defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and unlocking crates scattered throughout the Overgrowth. Additionally, selling gear to vendors in the Hub can boost your Bright Blood reserves.
With Bright Blood at your disposal, you can:
- Loot Blades and Rails from fallen enemies in the Overgrowth.
- Unlock Stashes and other crates within the Overgrowth.
- Buy new gear from vendors in both the Overgrowth and the Hub.
- Upgrade your existing gear at the Hub's vendors.
How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker
Gold Rations are earned by completing Cycles in Hyper Light Breaker. Initially, you'll likely complete these Cycles after exhausting all four of your Rezes. After using all your Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub, where you'll find an NPC. Hand over the requested materials to reset the Overgrowth and make progress toward earning those valuable Gold Rations.
Gold Rations are pivotal for the game's meta-progression. Use them to unlock permanent upgrades through Pherus Bit in the Hub. Additionally, you can offer Gold Rations to the Hub's vendors to unlock new services and enhance your gameplay experience.
How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker
Abyss Stones are a reward for defeating the formidable Crowns, found behind gates in the Overgrowth. Before facing these bosses, you'll need to gather Prism, marked by yellow diamonds on the map.
Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones are crucial for meta-progression. They allow you to upgrade your Sycoms' stats and unlock new characters during the loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth. These enhancements are key to gaining an edge in your future adventures.
How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker
Keys are a bit elusive, obtained from small containers in the Overgrowth, often unmarked on the map, making them a challenging resource to find consistently.
Keys serve a critical function by allowing you to bypass barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other valuable loot. They also unlock Labs, hidden areas filled with enemies and items to collect.
How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker
MediGems are vital for your survival, earned by interacting with glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. Their importance lies in their exchange for Medkits, crucial for healing, available at the Hub's Telepad and Shrines in the Overgrowth.
Before you can utilize MediGems, you must expand your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node, enabling you to convert MediGems into Medkits.
How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker
Cores are another essential meta-progression resource, found in the Overgrowth's Stashes (marked by chest icons) or by combining four Core Shards. These shards drop from enemies that also give Prisms (yellow diamonds on the map) and from unmarked objects like bone piles scattered throughout the Overgrowth.
Cores are used to upgrade your Sycom, enhancing your Breakers' stats. This upgrading happens during loadout confirmation before you venture into the Overgrowth, ensuring you're well-prepared for what lies ahead.
How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker
Materials are predominantly obtained by using Bright Blood to open small chests in the Overgrowth, marked by gems on the map. You can also gather more Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.
This resource allows you to purchase gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth. While similar to Bright Blood, Materials have more specific uses, making them a valuable commodity in your quest for better equipment.
