ICE on the Edge: A New Figure Skating Simulation Game from Melpot Studio
Melpot Studio has released the first trailer for its upcoming figure skating simulation game, ICE on the Edge, set to launch on PC via Steam in 2026. This innovative title blends dynamic anime-inspired visuals with highly detailed, realistic skating choreography, crafted in collaboration with professional figure skaters.
In ICE on the Edge, players take on the role of a coach responsible for developing skaters’ potential. Tasks include designing performance routines, selecting music, creating custom costumes, and choosing technical elements like jumps and spins. The ultimate objective is to guide your athletes to triumph at the fictional elite competition, On the Edge. The game’s choreography benefits from input by celebrated Japanese skater Akiko Suzuki, who previously worked on the anime series Medalist.
Notably, the development team started with little experience in figure skating but committed to mastering the sport’s complexities. They studied everything from jump techniques and edge control to the scoring system, ensuring a deeply authentic and immersive gameplay experience.
By combining vivid anime aesthetics with realistic skating mechanics, ICE on the Edge is designed to engage both video game fans and figure skating enthusiasts alike.
