Bethesda and MachineGames' "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" is rumored to arrive on PlayStation 5 in early 2025. This follows its planned launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC later this year.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: A PS5 Release in 2025?
Reports suggest a PS5 release for Xbox's upcoming Indiana Jones adventure game during the first half of 2025. Industry insider Nate the Hate, known for accurate leaks regarding Microsoft's multi-platform strategy, claims the game will be a timed Xbox console exclusive for the 2024 holiday season, with a subsequent PS5 launch. Insider Gaming corroborated this, mentioning NDAs surrounding the information shared with select media outlets.
"MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be a timed console exclusive for Xbox and PC this holiday season (December). A PlayStation 5 release is planned for the first half of 2025," Nate the Hate tweeted.
Microsoft Expanding Major Releases to PlayStation?
Speculation about Microsoft's approach to exclusivity has been circulating. The Verge previously reported that Bethesda and Microsoft were considering wider releases for major Xbox titles, including Indiana Jones and Starfield. While initially exclusive after the Bethesda acquisition, Microsoft has indicated a willingness to bring select flagship games to competing platforms like PlayStation.
This aligns with Microsoft's "Xbox Everywhere" initiative, which saw titles like Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Grounded released on other consoles. Reports suggest no strict policy prevents future first-party Xbox games from launching on PlayStation.
More details on "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" are expected at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20th. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the event will likely showcase the game and potentially announce its release date, alongside other anticipated titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter: World, Civilization 7, Marvel's Midnight Suns, and Dune: Awakening.
