Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president, Ted Price, recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately never approved. While the concept was deemed "wonderful," the timing and market opportunity weren't favorable.
Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future narrative possibilities.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, debuted on the PlayStation 3. The games depict an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the highly successful Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement, announced earlier this year after a 30-year tenure, will see Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang assume the roles of Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's recent releases include the PC port of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
