KPop Demon Hunters is Officially Netflix's Most-Watched Film Ever
Data released by Netflix confirms that KPop Demon Hunters has become the streaming giant’s most popular film to date, accumulating 25.4 million new views between August 18 and 24. This surge brings its total viewership to a staggering 236 million since its June release.
Remarkably, the movie has maintained nearly zero decline in audience numbers for three consecutive weeks—a feat rarely achieved by any film, let alone major blockbusters. According to Deadline, viewship is expected to rise further as the KPop Demon Hunters The Sing-Along Event draws significant traffic from viewers who may not have initially sought out a separate title.
A Historic Milestone for Animated Films
In July, KPop Demon Hunters surpassed all previous records to become Netflix’s most-watched animated film ever. It recently overtook Red Notice (230.9 million views) to claim the top spot, pushing it into second place behind Carry-On, Don’t Look Up, and The Adam Project.
Last week alone, Night Always Came secured second place with 12.3 million views, followed by Welcome to Sudden Death, My Oxford Year, and Home.

For those unfamiliar, KPop Demon Hunters is a Sony Pictures Animation feature following Huntrix, a Korean pop trio that moonlights as demon hunters. Their mission? To stop an evil demon king from devouring humanity.

A special sing-along edition of the film premiered earlier this week, complementing in-person theatrical showings that took place across numerous cinemas over the weekend.
