Solo developer Jo Drolet is set to launch the captivating single-player roguelite, Lhea and the Word Spirit, guiding players on a mystical journey through otherworldly realms. Scheduled for release in August, this game centers around navigating lost souls across the enigmatic In-Between, a realm teetering between life and death, under the guidance of an ancient Word Spirit. The game's aesthetic is defined by its minimalist visuals, complemented by a unique "timeline battle system."
In Lhea and the Word Spirit, players will have the opportunity to manipulate the timeline of battles, adding a strategic depth to their adventures. Equipping and upgrading a variety of enchanted rings will not only enhance your abilities but also unlock spells and reveal hidden secrets, shedding light on the mysteries of the In-Between. The roguelite format ensures that each run through the procedurally generated worlds is unique, demanding different strategies and approaches each time.
“I wanted to create this charming minimalistic world about life and death with the hope that players lose track of time and feel enspirited by this dance between unexpected discoveries, strategy flow and heartwarming music,” Jo Drolet explains.
Set to enchant players in August, Lhea and the Word Spirit will first offer a sneak peek with a demo during Steam Next Fest, available from June 9th to the 16th. Can't wait that long? Explore our curated list of the best roguelikes on Android to keep the excitement going.
