The live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch has just dropped its official trailer, giving us an exciting first look at Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles, and Billy Magnussen as Pleakley. While previous teasers focused heavily on Stitch, this trailer centers Kealoha's portrayal of Lilo, offering a compelling comparison to Daveigh Chase's iconic performance in the 2002 animated original.
We also see the endearingly serious Cobra Bubbles in action alongside Zach Galifianakis' Jumba and Billy Magnussen's Pleakley. Interestingly, Jumba and Pleakley appear initially disguised as their human actors, a unique twist on their usual alien appearances. However, a fleeting glimpse reveals Pleakley in his true alien form. The trailer faithfully recreates several beloved scenes from the original film, including Stitch's dramatic arrival resembling a falling star, his dog-like disguise at the animal shelter, and the heartwarming moment where Lilo delivers the iconic line, "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten."
Lilo & Stitch hits theaters May 23, 2025, adding another beloved Disney classic to its growing live-action collection. This release follows closely on the heels of the live-action Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, premiering March 21st.
