Your journey begins in the bustling city of Osaka, located in the central part of Izumi Settsu. Here, you'll encounter a woman in the heart of the town who speaks of a game involving the pursuit of origami butterflies. As you explore, you'll notice these large paper butterflies pinned to tree trunks, surrounded by real butterflies. Collecting them leads you to uncover sinister notes, revealing that the Butterfly Collector is far from a harmless game. It's a clandestine group of women engaged in kidnapping children from wealthy families, aiming to gain power and influence.
Determined to stop their nefarious activities, you'll need to track down all five members of this faction. Each member presents a unique challenge, requiring you to use your skills as an assassin or warrior to save the kidnapped children and dismantle the group.

Use Naoe’s blade or Yasuke’s brute force to deal with her, then rescue the child hiding behind nearby horses.
Mucho

From Shucho's location, head northwest across the bridge to the Kojo ruins. Mucho, posing as a family jochu, is struggling with her victim on a road south of the ruins. Use the child’s resistance to get close, and when Mucho attacks, take her down. Return the child to her mother before moving on.
Richo

Richo, a young woman disguising herself as someone of higher standing, can be found in the bamboo grove in Noda Village, just north of Osaka across the water. She's dressed in pink and checking on a ransom payment. Approach stealthily or engage in combat to take her down and save the child.

After dealing with the previous three, you'll face Kacho, the leader. Her location is just north of the Nishinomaru Garden, west of Osaka Castle, in a restricted zone. Look for a swarm of butterflies to find her. Engage in conversation, then prepare for a deadly fight. Kacho's demise will leave one final member to confront.
Gamemaker
The Gamemaker, who initiated the butterfly collecting quest, awaits your final decision. Return to her marked location on the map. As a former victim, she created the game hoping someone would solve the mystery and save others. You must decide her fate—punishment or a chance at a new life. Your choice will conclude the Butterfly Collector storyline, earning you 5,500 XP.
