Marvel Champions: Ultimate Card Strategy Revealed

Author : Camila Feb 26,2025

Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC) extends beyond mobile gaming; it boasts an arcade version at Dave & Buster's, offering a unique 3v3 battle experience for two players. The winning player is determined by a best-of-three match. However, the real draw? Both players receive a Champion Card after each match – a physical collectible featuring a Marvel hero or villain.

These cards aren't just for show; they're scannable in the arcade machine to choose specific champions. With over 175 cards across two series (including standard and foil variants), collecting and strategizing are key. This guide covers everything you need to know about MCoC Champion Cards.

What are Champion Cards?

MCoC Champion Cards are physical trading cards dispensed by MCoC arcade machines at Dave & Buster's. They represent in-game characters and are used to select champions for arcade battles. Random champion selection occurs if no cards are scanned.

Each card features an MCoC Marvel character and boasts a foil variant, mirroring collectible arcade cards from games like Mario Kart Arcade GP and Injustice Arcade. Series 1 featured 75 champions, while Series 2 added 100, expanding the roster.

A Champion Card is dispensed to each player post-match, win or lose. The card received is random, ensuring equal chances for all players. Cards are drawn from Series 1 (75 champions) or Series 2 (100 champions), each with rarer foil variants.

While not mandatory for arcade gameplay, Champion Cards add strategic depth and customization, letting players choose their champions instead of relying on random assignments. Note: These cards don't transfer to the mobile MCoC game, but enhance the arcade experience. For mobile MCoC tips, check our beginner's guide!

Champion Card Rarity and Collectibility

Like traditional trading cards, MCoC Champion Cards are highly collectible. While functionality remains the same in-game, collecting the full set, including rare foil versions, is a popular pursuit. Series 2 reintroduced Series 1 characters with new art, resulting in multiple versions of some cards.

Available Cards:

  • Series 1 (2019): 75 cards featuring classic MCoC characters.
  • Series 2 (later release): 100 cards, including redesigns from Series 1 and new characters.
  • Foil Variants: Rarer, more valuable special versions of standard cards.

Collectors aim for complete sets, favorite characters, or solely foil cards. Their Dave & Buster's exclusivity adds to their appeal for Marvel fans.

Where to Get Marvel Contest of Champions Champion Cards

Currently, these cards are exclusively available at Dave & Buster's locations with the MCoC arcade cabinet. They cannot be purchased in-game or earned through the mobile MCoC app.

Collection Strategies:

  • Frequent arcade gameplay for new cards.
  • Trading with other players to complete sets.
  • Online marketplaces for purchasing extra cards.

Keep an eye on Dave & Buster's updates for potential future series releases.

MCoC Champion Cards add a unique physical collectible dimension to the arcade experience. Whether for in-game use or Marvel fandom, these cards offer a compelling way to engage with MCoC beyond the mobile app.
