This unprecedented expansion is due to the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified launch, rather than staggering their releases.
This supersized season will treat players to a wealth of new content, including three new maps based on iconic New York City locations:
- Sanctum Sanctorum: Launching alongside Season 1, this map sets the stage for the new Doom Match game mode.
- Midtown: This map will be the backdrop for intense Convoy missions, demanding strategic street battles.
- Central Park: Details on this map remain under wraps for now, with more information promised closer to the mid-season update.
The initial launch will feature Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist), with The Thing and Human Torch joining the fray in the mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.

Creative Director Guangyun Chen confirmed the doubled content in a recent Dev Vision video, emphasizing the excitement of releasing the Fantastic Four simultaneously. While this season is exceptionally large, NetEase Games hasn't yet clarified how this will affect the future release schedule of new features, maps, or game modes. For now, the expectation remains for two new heroes or villains per subsequent season.
Although the absence of Blade in Season 1 disappointed some fans, the possibility of his future inclusion remains. With the abundance of new content and ongoing speculation, the future of Marvel Rivals is brimming with anticipation.
