When venturing into the spine-chilling world of *Phasmophobia*, using special Cursed Possessions can be key to tracking down and confronting the most elusive ghosts. Among these, the Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful tool, offering significant rewards despite the inherent risks. Here’s how to harness its power effectively.
How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia
The Haunted Mirror is often hailed as the safest Cursed Object in *Phasmophobia*. Its consistent ability across the game's numerous updates makes it a valuable asset during investigations. When you encounter this item, using it can significantly enhance your ghost-hunting experience.
The Haunted Mirror provides a panoramic view of the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map. This feature is invaluable for quickly locating the ghost, especially if you're familiar with the map's layout. It allows you to set up your equipment efficiently before the situation escalates.
You can find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, like at 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its designated spot. Cursed Objects always appear in the same location on a map, though the type of object that spawns is randomized.
To use the Haunted Mirror, simply pick it up and interact with it using the appropriate button (mouse or controller) to hold it up. The reflection will show you the ghost's preferred room. Keep in mind, on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost may move to different areas after some time.
Be cautious, as prolonged use of the Haunted Mirror will drain your sanity. If you hold it up for too long, the mirror will shatter, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your current location. It's best to use it when your sanity is high and to quickly understand the reflection's information.

Cursed Possessions, commonly known as "Cursed Objects," are unique items found randomly across any map in *Phasmophobia*. Their availability can vary based on difficulty settings or specific game modes like Challenge Mode.
Unlike regular equipment used for safely locating ghosts and gathering evidence, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate the ghost's behavior, albeit with much higher risks. The decision to use these objects is left to the discretion of you and your team, with no penalties for opting out. Each contract features only one Cursed Possession, unless modified in Custom settings.
There are seven different Cursed Objects in the game:
- Summoning Circle
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
