Author : Lillian Mar 13,2025

Renowned Windows Central editor and insider Jez Corden has confirmed reports that Microsoft is developing a Gears of War collection. Recent rumors suggested this compilation would exclude the franchise's multiplayer mode, a claim Corden verified. Competitive online play won't be included, though cooperative gameplay and the main story campaigns will remain.

Industry speculation points to a potential announcement at the upcoming Xbox Showcase in June. While the exact games included remain unconfirmed, insiders suggest the collection may encompass the first three Gears of War titles.

Development on the next mainline entry, Gears of War: E-Day, continues using Unreal Engine 5 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Recent leaks hinted at a 2024 release, but Corden believes a 2026 launch is more likely.
