Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025
Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several game publishers have announced the return of their titles for the 2025 competition. Hot on the heels of Free Fire's confirmation, Moonton has officially announced that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will also be featured.
The 2024 Esports World Cup showcased two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. Teams from around the globe competed in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants emerged victorious in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (ending their 25-game winning streak) to claim the Women's Invitational title.
A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?
While most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning in 2025, a notable observation is the lack of truly major championships featured. The inclusion of a mid-season cup as MLBB's main event might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed more as a supplementary event than a primary competition. This is a double-edged sword: it avoids overshadowing existing leagues but could also be perceived as secondary to the main MLBB events.
Despite this, fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will undoubtedly welcome its return to this prestigious tournament.
