In an exciting crossover to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Monster Hunter, Capcom's beloved action-RPG series has teamed up with Digimon to launch the "Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition." This special edition of the pocket-sized V-Pets device showcases colorways inspired by the iconic Monster Hunter creatures, Rathalos and Zinogre, and is priced at 7,700 Yen (approximately $53.20 USD) before additional fees.
The Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition comes equipped with a vibrant color LCD screen, UV printer technology, and a built-in rechargeable battery, offering a seamless and engaging experience. Just like previous models, it includes customizable background designs and introduces the innovative "Cold Mode" feature. This mode temporarily halts the growth, hunger, and strength stats of your monsters, giving you more control over their development. Furthermore, a backup system allows you to save and protect your monsters and in-game progress.
Pre-orders for this unique collaboration are currently open at Bandai's official Japan online store. However, these are Japanese releases, so international buyers should be aware of potential additional shipping fees. Unfortunately, there has been no announcement regarding a global release yet. The devices sold out quickly, mere hours after the announcement, and the first round of pre-orders will close today at 11:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET). Keep an eye on the Digimon Web Twitter (X) account for updates on the second round of pre-order registrations. The Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition is slated for release in April 2025.
