Monster Hunter Now is gearing up for an exhilarating Season 5: The Blossoming Blade, launching on March 6th, 2025. Niantic has unveiled a wealth of exciting updates and additions to look forward to in this upcoming season, which promises new challenges, weapons, a Season Pass, and fresh monsters to hunt.
Getting Ready for Monster Hunter Now Season 5
Before the official start of Season 5, players can enjoy a special early treat with the arrival of Chatacabra on February 28th. This monster is making its grand debut in Monster Hunter Now ahead of its first appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds. When the season fully launches, players will also encounter Glavenus and Arzuros, adding more diversity to the hunt.
In terms of weaponry, Season 5 introduces balance tweaks aimed at enhancing the viability and enjoyment of all weapon types. The Sword & Shield is set to receive a buff that will make targeting breakable parts like tails easier. Additionally, the Perfect Rush Combo (SP) will reward players with stronger performance for well-timed taps, leading to more satisfying combos.
The Guard skill is also getting a significant upgrade. Previously, leveling up Guard offered minimal benefits, but now, higher skill levels will substantially reduce damage taken when blocking. More detailed tweaks will be revealed in the full patch notes on March 6th.
And There Is More!
For those struggling with inventory management, Monster Hunter Now Season 5 introduces an Item Box Expansion available as a Supply Item, providing an additional 250 slots to help manage your gear and resources more efficiently.
As part of Monster Hunter Now's 1.5-Year Anniversary celebrations, a new feature will roll out on March 17th, allowing players to trade special materials earned from hunts and events for a variety of rewards. Expect to see options like Item Box Expansions, Weapon Refining Parts, Armor Refining Parts, and Wyvern Gem Shards available for trade.
