Mortal Kombat 1 added a secret fighter with a reference to a legendary rock band

This week's Mortal Kombat 1 update brought a surprising addition to the roster: Conan the Barbarian. But the real unexpected guest is a secret fighter – a pink-clad ninja named Floyd! No, it's not a joke; he's a fully playable character.

Floyd is a clear nod to Pink Floyd, his introduction echoing the band's Dark Side of the Moon album cover with its iconic prism effect. Interestingly, his moveset is a blend of techniques borrowed from other ninjas, incorporating Sub-Zero's freezing abilities and Scorpion's spear attacks. Adding to the fun, he boasts a quirky 1337 health points.

Long-time Mortal Kombat fans will recognize a parallel to Reptile, the secret character from the original game. Like Floyd, Reptile was notoriously difficult to unlock and employed a moveset composed of moves from other ninjas.

Unlocking Floyd currently appears somewhat random, with the community actively searching for the specific triggers. While Floyd offers clues to required challenges, a definitive method remains elusive.
