Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled back-to-back character reveals. Yesterday's esports trailer hinted at the T-1000, but the Terminator isn't the immediate addition. Instead, Conan the Barbarian is the focus, launching next week for premium edition owners. Today's gameplay trailer showcases the Cimmerian warrior.
Conan's gameplay emphasizes his brutish strength. Expect powerful, high-damage attacks, though agility and speed may not be his strong suits. His sword's reach might compensate for this, however. Showdowns against characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander would be intriguing to witness.
While visually reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the spectacular flair of some other MK1 finishers. A simple submersion in acid feels somewhat underwhelming. However, the overall gameplay experience with Conan is expected to be entertaining, regardless of the fatality.
Premium edition owners gain early access on Tuesday, while everyone else must wait until January 28th.
