Mutt's Location:
Mutt is near a wolf cave southwest of the Nomads' Camp, just east of the river bathing spot. The image below pinpoints his location.
Fast travel to the Nomads' Camp for the easiest route. Follow the path southwest into the woods; you'll likely find yourself above the cave. You'll hear Mutt's whimpers as you approach. He's in a clearing near the cave, surrounded by wolves.
Approaching triggers a cutscene, introducing Mutt's combat commands. Choose to fight or flee the wolves. While combat is manageable, it offers a chance to gain experience.
After the wolf encounter, Mutt is yours. Hold L1 (while facing him) to interact, feed him, or send him home.
Finding Mutt During "The Invaders" Side Quest:
Interestingly, you might discover Mutt's location while completing "The Invaders" quest. After drinking with the Cumans, following Vasko uphill for more liquor leads directly to the cave, triggering the cutscene. However, attempting this while drunk and in the dark is significantly harder.
It's strongly recommended to rescue Mutt before continuing "The Invaders" quest. Navigating wolves while intoxicated and in low light is extremely challenging, potentially leading to a fatal fall.
