Ananta: NetEase's Open-World RPG Unveiled

NetEase Games and Naked Rain have officially revealed the title of their enigmatic Project Mugen: Ananta. A new PV and teaser trailer showcase gameplay and offer a clearer picture of this urban, open-world RPG.

The preview video highlights Nova City, a sprawling cityscape players can explore. It introduces a diverse cast of characters facing a familiar threat: chaotic forces from beyond.

While comparisons to MiHoYo's titles, particularly Zenless Zone Zero, are inevitable, Ananta distinguishes itself, especially in its movement mechanics. The game promises a blend of charming characters and dynamic combat, a popular formula in 3D RPGs.

Impressive Movement and Exploration

The PV showcases impressive movement capabilities. The extent of free-roaming exploration remains to be seen – whether movement will be confined to specific areas (like streets and rooftops) or offer truly expansive, Spider-Man-style traversal across Nova City.

Ananta's similarities to MiHoYo's Hoyoverse titles are undeniable, but NetEase isn't the first to attempt replicating their success. The key question is whether Ananta can carve its own niche and potentially challenge the leading 3D gacha RPGs.
